Migrations of Western Central Europe: *
Various factors contributed to this phenomenon; starting in 382 AD, the Romans made treaties with individual tribes regarding settlements within its territory. Western Roman rule was first violated with the invasions of the Vandals and Suebi. With wars ensuing between various tribes, as well as local populations in the Western Roman Empire, more & more power was transferred to Germanic and Roman militaries.
