Eastern basilica: *

Old St Peters, is the most famous basically in the world, stood from the 4th- 16th centuries, where the new St. Peter's Basilica stands today in Vatican City.  Construction (built over the Circus of Nero) began during the reign of Emperor Constantine I (306-37 AD)

The tympanum depicts the Apocalypse of the Book of Revelation.  Supporting the tympanum, a trumeau features a statue of the Prophet Isaiah, an outstanding example of Romanesque sculpture
