(aka the Ottonian dynasty) Saxon dynasty of German monarchs (919–1024), named after 3 of its kings and Holy Roman Emperors; successors to the Germanic king Conrad I who was the only Germanic king to rule in East Francia after the Carolingian dynasty. Spengler states that this is the epoch which marks the birth of Faustian Culture.

wheel clock:
first mechanical clocks (1300 AD) in Europe, kept time with oscillating timekeepers like balance wheels & employed the verge escapement, a major advance in timekeeping. The verge (or crown wheel) escapement is the mechanism in a mechanical clock that controls its rate by allowing the gear train to advance at regular intervals or 'ticks'.
Vedic dawn:
earliest period for the Vedic age dates back to the 2nd millennium BC, subsequent to the collapse of the Indus Valley Civilisation circa 1900 BC. Following the migration of groups of Indo-Aryan peoples into NW India & their settlement in the N Indus Valley, the Vedic Culture emerges 1500 BC
